From data to action – consulting and training program

Nawigator

Consulting and Training Program

Navigator is an ambitious program, periodically offered by PCG, for small groups of proactive school representatives who want to: determine their school strengths and weaknesses, correctly diagnose existing problems, plan an improvement strategy and increase the effectiveness of undertaken actions. Navigator is tailored to the individual needs of every participating school. The experts' and consultants' support is an integrated part of the program, which is why participation in this program is limited to three representatives per school.

Presentation of the Program

The structure and the organization of the program (day‑long meetings held five times during several weeks) results from a model based on asking questions, which leads participants through all key stages of the problem solving process based on data available in the school.

The Program uses an innovative approach, specifically:

  • in‑depth analysis of school data (results of external exams, results of teaching, educational added value, reports summarizing the external evaluation, internal evaluation data, demographic data, data on attendance, behavior, and many others),
  • team work based on case studies,
  • experts' support at every step of the problem solving process, and
  • development of skills to formulate right questions and measurable goals

Our program is based on the use of presented solutions in practice while solving schools' specific problems. After the end of the program, participants are able to independently apply acquired skills and spread good practices among the rest of the school faculty.

During the whole program we emphasize the development of soft skills of the team that enable effective communication and cooperation with the rest of the school faculty.

This program is a great opportunity for school teams to cooperate under expert guidance exchange experiences with other schools.

Opinions about the program

We congratulate the PCG team on their excellent knowledge of schools' needs as well as on their idea, which in a similar form will soon be introduced to the methods of helping schools within the system of pedagogical supervision, in accordance to MEN's premises. I am glad that thanks to you, the schools of Bialograd city outperformed the system.

Małgorzata Stachowiak, Vice‑Mayor of Białograd

It was the best program I have ever participated in. I received a lot of guidance, support, and ready to use tools that I can implement in my school. I believe that thanks to this program and the process I have learned, the teachers' council at my school will be cooperating better for joint success.

Bożena Zbiorczyk, Pre‑K in Kąkolewo

Before the trainings, I understood data only as the results of final exams. Thanks to the program I have started to notice how much data the school can use to analyze its effectiveness. Now I can thoroughly analyze data and find the details that give me a general overview of the current situation. In the consequence, I am able to identify the areas that need improvement.

Teresa Wojtkiewicz, Middle School in Ozorków

I thought I knew everything about data use. It turned out though, that to succeed, we need in depth data analysis and team work of all the teachers in the school, not just a few of them. This will lead to success, where both teachers and the students are successful. Friendly atmosphere, reciprocal support and opportunity to share experience were very helpful in completing the course program.
Teresa Andrzejczak, Primary School in Ozorków
